Labdanum or Laban: it is an oil-resin obtained from the Cistus ladanifer shrub. Labdanum is a small evergreen shrub native to the mountainous regions of the Mediterranean such as Spain, France, Cyprus and Morocco. Labdanum oil is believed to have a number of properties that offer some healing benefits such as antimicrobial, astringent, antiseptic, expectorant properties. But it is widely used in aromatherapy treatments to improve mood and relieve anxiety, stress and depression.
