The Jerusalem Ointment is a scented balm handcrafted by the Dominican nuns of Pratovecchio composed of essential oils of flowers, fruits and spices expertly mixed to obtain enveloping and harmonious fragrances.
Labdanum or Laban: it is an oil-resin obtained from the Cistus ladanifer shrub. Labdanum is a small evergreen shrub native to the mountainous regions of the Mediterranean such as Spain, France, Cyprus and Morocco. Labdanum oil is believed to have a number of properties that offer some healing benefits such as antimicrobial, astringent, antiseptic, expectorant properties. But it is widely used in aromatherapy treatments to improve mood and relieve anxiety, stress and depression.
