Bonneval Abbey was founded in 1147 in the town of Cayrol, about 40km northeast of Rodez. Since its foundation, the abbey has been very active in production thanks to the many barns and farms in its possession. Today the abbey is home to a community of Cistercian Trappist nuns dedicated to prayer and the production of chocolate in particular.
