Description

The Gregorius is the first Trappist beer brewed in Austria. A dark double malt beer brewed by the monks of Engelszell Abbey in Upper Austria.

_x000D_

This Belgian Dark Strong Ale style beer is brewed with only Austrian hops and local organic honey and is dedicated to the first abbot of the young Engelszell monastery: Gregorius Eisvogel.
It has a classic monk's tunic" colour, i.e. dark with amber highlights and a cream-coloured foam. It is sweet and soft on the palate, with hints of dried fruit, liqueur wine and caramel.
